cuz there's a world awake outside, with injustice and music...

So my computer broke.

For any macbook geniuses out there, here's the sitch:

i powered my computer down for the weekend. it was definitely all the way off when i closed it because i've had that problem before so i'm careful.

now, when i press the power button, nothing happens. i've checked and the battery is fully charged. when i plug the power adaptor in, the green light comes on full brightness on both sides.

still nothing when i turn it on, no sound, no flashing of the screen real quick, just nothing.

applecare doesn't have an email and i'm not ready to buy enough minutes to call them for the amount of time they'll probably put me on hold or ask the same question 18 different ways like last time.

i probably wont' have time to seek out a place here until at least Thursday and hopefully i can bring someone along who's actually fluent because explaining a broken computer isn't really vocab i've bothered to learn yet :/

In the meantime, updates will be less frequent. This weekend was awesome though and filled with lots of blog-worthy stories, which I hope to be able to put up at sometime this week.

I'm not going to ask you to leave a comment this week...even though (almost) no one does...

soo i was able to get caught up on your blog and read the last few entries. sorry i am so slow! nicaragua sounds mostly awesome except the woman ur living with might not be so great? also when do you come home? and just out of curiosity are people traveling out of nica at all or just around the country or what, do you get a fall break? and how are classes going now that you are a few weeks in im assuming? andd how cheap is everything there haha im assuming cheaper than the US? which is awesome. in florence everything is crazy expensive. not gonna lie im dying to speak spanish recently haha, at least i can communicate in spanish somewhat-italian i know so little it is tough. hopefully i can plan a trip to spain and practice it a bit. goodluck with your computer unfortunately i know nothing about macs, and not much about computers in general lol so i can't help but hopefully you can figure it out! a thought-maybe their website has troubleshooting or a link where you can email for help instead of calling? that way you dont spend a billion dollars on hold..anyways enjoy nica and talk to you soon hopefully!

hi jenn! it's kristin villanueva :) i'm sorry to hear about your computer. my brother works at the apple store and i asked him if he knew what might be wrong. this is what he wrote:

was she having issues with the battery before this happened? if the battery life was really short and/or the computer would just randomly turn off when running on battery power, then the battery might be shot - in which case she just needs to get a new one.

he says that can be expensive. if you have applecare then you can mail it to them and they might give it to you for free depending on the usage.

other than that, he sent this link:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1365

he said that if none of those solutions help then to go to the nearest apple store and schedule an appointment there. now i dont know if there is an apple store in nicaragua so if there isn't then just ignore his last comment lol.

hope this helps and u fix your computer soon! miss you!
